1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device to remember information about you. We keep our use of cookies to the minimum needed to run the Site.
2. Cookies we use
| Cookie | Purpose | Category | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| italygo_session | Keeps you signed in (secure, httpOnly) | Strictly necessary | 30 days |
| Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) | Anonymous traffic statistics (pages, cities, devices) | Analytics — optional | Up to 2 years |
3. Strictly necessary cookies
The session cookie is required for signing in and using community features (favourites, passport, reviews). It contains no readable personal data and cannot be used to track you across other sites. The Site works fully for browsing without any cookies.
4. Analytics cookies (optional)
Google Analytics sets the _ga cookies to count visits and understand usage in aggregate. We use the GA4 configuration with IP anonymisation. You can:
- install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on;
- block or delete cookies in your browser settings;
- use your browser's private/incognito mode.
5. Third-party services
We embed no advertising or social-tracking cookies. External booking links take you to third-party sites that have their own cookie policies — we receive no data from them.
6. Managing cookies
Every major browser lets you review, block or delete cookies (usually under Settings → Privacy). Blocking the session cookie means you can browse but not sign in.
7. Questions
Use the contact form and choose "Website question or issue".
