IItalyGo
Our story

Italy never left Ontario.

More Italians came to Canada through Ontario than through any other province. They brought sourdough starters and espresso machines, recipes written on the backs of envelopes, and a conviction that food is how a family says what it means.

ItalyGo exists to map what they built — and what their children and grandchildren are still building. Not a review site. Not a directory. A guide, written the way a good food magazine writes: with opinions, context, and respect for the people behind the counter.

We start with places — restaurants, cafés, bakeries, bars, food shops — and experiences where you can learn the craft yourself. Then comes the community: lists, favourites, and a passport that turns eating your way across Ontario into a story you collect.

The roadmap

  1. Step 1 — Foundation. Design system, database architecture, discovery pages. (You are here.)
  2. Step 2 — Community. Accounts, favourites, user lists, photos.
  3. Step 3 — Passport. Check-ins, stamps, badges, rewards.
  4. Step 4 — Owners. Business claims, dashboards, bookings.
  5. Step 5 — Everything else. Events, editorial, and whatever the community asks for.
