Francesca Bakery

Angelo Battaglia opened Francesca in 1994 on the corner of Invergordon and McCowan, with the promise that every loaf, cannolo and tray of arancini would taste the way it did back home in Sicily. Three decades on the recipes have not moved and the line at the counter has only grown. The bakery case covers Italian pastries, cookies, breads and focaccia, with panettone through the holidays and custom cakes to order; the deli and hot table turn out sandwiches, pasta and Sicilian prepared dishes for the lunch crowd, and there is a café side for espresso. Catering runs from trays for the office to full family events. Open seven days from seven in the morning.
