Montesanto is a newer Italian bakery in central Etobicoke, on Lavington Drive off Eglinton, and it packs the whole Italian bakery repertoire into one room: bread and pastries baked through the morning, a deli and grocery section of imported goods, a hot table for lunch, and a café counter for espresso. The zeppole are the thing people drive across the city for, and the holiday menu — Christmas trays, Easter pies — sells out early. It is a neighbourhood shop rather than a destination dining room, with a few tables for anyone who wants to eat what they just bought.
