Spago opened on Erie Street in 1990 and has been the reference point for Windsor Italian ever since, close enough to the Detroit River that the room fills with both sides of the border. The menu works from traditional family recipes: pizza and pasta, antipasti, veal and seafood, with a wine list to match. The Little Italy flagship opens at noon daily; the same kitchen now also runs a South Windsor dining room on Dougall Avenue and an outlet at Caesars Windsor, so the Erie Street original remains the place to come for the full trattoria experience.
