Tony and Connie Zappitelli opened Zappi's on the corner of Dunn Street and Stanley Avenue in 1971; 55 years later the family still runs it from 6663 Stanley Avenue, which makes it one of the longest-running restaurants in Niagara Falls. The formula has not needed reinvention: pizza from the family recipe, pasta, subs and a dining room that fills with both locals and visitors who walk up from the falls. It is not trying to be a fine-dining room — it is the dependable family pizzeria that a tourist city somehow kept, and that is exactly why it is worth a table. The family moved the restaurant to its current Stanley Avenue address in 2002 and has been there since.
